Your PageWriter 2000X Two-Way Wireless Communications Cen-
ter is a dynamic messaging device. It monitors and processes your
communications even when you are busy with other things. The
following questions reflect situations that may occur and are orga-
nized into four categories:
• PageWriter 2000X Pager
• Messaging
• Battery and Charger
•FLEX PC Partner
PageWriter 2000X Pager
Why won’t my pager power up?
Your PageWriter 2000X Two-Way Wireless Communications Cen-
ter might not be accessing the power it requires.
• Make sure you have a battery in the battery compartment. If
not, insert a fresh battery.
• Make sure the battery is inserted properly. Check that the +
marking on the battery is positioned on the two-contact side of
the battery compartment. Press the battery into the compart-
ment to ensure the battery is seated properly. For more infor-
mation, see “To replace the battery:” on page 17.
• Recharge the battery or insert a fresh battery.
• If the front LED lights when you replace the battery and the
screen is still blank, your screen’s contrast may be too light.
Adjust the contrast. See "My screen is too dark (or too light).
How do I change it?".

change it?
You can quickly change the contrast by pressing , then holding
down until reaching the desired contrast. Your PageWriter
2000X Two-Way Wireless Communications Center also has a built-
in calibration guide to help you select the best contrast level. For
more information, see Customizing the User Interface.
Periodically, the date and time are incorrect.
What causes this?
The clock will maintain its accuracy for about an hour after the
battery has been totally drained of power. To retain date and time
accuracy, replace the battery, as needed. During extended periods
of non-use (i.e., overnight), place your pager in the plugged-in
