10.1 Briefoverviewofthequalityofservicesection
PMP320providesdifferentqualityofservice(QOS)settingsperthe802.16e
specificatione.gUGS,rtPS,nrtPSandBE.UsercanchoosetheappropriateQoS
profilebasedontheapplicationneeds.ItisrecommendedthateachQoSprofileis
createdwithspecificMaximumInformationRate(MIR)andCommitted
InformationRate(CIR)asdictatedbytheapplicationneeds.ThePMP320system
cansupportseveralQoSprofiles(e.g.256)withdifferentcombinationsofQoS
types,MIRandCIR.
EachPMP320APservesseveralCPEsundergivensector.EachCPEcouldhave
multipleserviceflowsinbothULandDLdirection.Eachflowisassociatedwitha
givenQoSprofilewhichisconfiguredbasedonenduserneed.OneCPEcouldhave
multipleflowstoservedifferentapplicationssimultaneously.Todifferentiate
multipleflowsunderasingleCPE,PMP320usesclassificationprofiles.These
classificationprofilesareassociatedwithspecificserviceflows.Different
applications,bothoverULandDLcansendtheirdatausingclassificationswhich
helpsCPEandAPtoassociatedatatraffictospecificserviceflowwithQoStype.
PMP320supportssource/destinationIPaddressandTOS/DSCP(DiffServeCode
Point)classifications.
10.2 QoSprofilecreation
Create/Add/Update/DeleteadditionalQoSprofilesusingAPGUI,“Configuration”
Æ“QoSProfile”.APwillhaveQoSprofilenumber0and1createdbydefault
whichisfixed.OnecanadddifferentQoSprofileasneeded.
ToaddanewQoSprofile,providethenewindex,nameifneeded,selectionof
HARQ,#Retries,securityenabledordisable,DSCPmarkingdisableorenable,
appropriateDSCPmarkvalue(e.gTOSvalue)ifDSCPMarkingisenabled.By
default,HARQisenabledwithretries”0”,SecurityandDSCPMarkingisdisabled.
RecommendedconfigurationfortheDLflowisHARQenabledwithretry“0”and
fortheULflowisHARQdisabled.
