• Press the PTT button during radio operation to disable
VOX.

Turning this feature on or off is limited to radios with
this function enabled. Check with your dealer or
system administrator for more information.
Turning Voice Operating Transmission
On or Off
Follow the procedure to turn VOX on or off on your radio.
1 Do one of the following:
• Press the programmed VOX
button. Skip the
steps below.
• Press
to access the menu.

5 Do one of the following:
• Press or to On. Press to select.
The display shows beside On.
• Press or to Off. Press to select.

NOTICE:
If the Talk Permit Tone is enabled, use a trigger
word to initiate the call. Wait for the Talk Permit
Tone to finish before speaking clearly into the
microphone. See
Turning Talk Permit Tone On or
Off on page 113 for more information.
Setting Display Backlight Timer
You can set the display backlight timer of the radio as
needed. The setting also affects the Menu Navigation
Buttons and keypad backlighting accordingly. Follow the
procedure to set the backlight timer on your radio.
