Late Air Reasons Screen Definitions
• A (“Customer Opens After Commit Time/Consignee Requested Late Delivery”)—Choose
this reason when the firm’s posted hours show that the business is closed until after the
commit time or when the consignee requested a delivery time later than the commit time.
• B (“Severe Weather Delay On Area”)—Choose this reason to indicate an on-area delay
caused by environmental circumstances beyond your control (such as earthquake, flood, etc.).
You must have center approval to use this reason.
• C (“Other”)—Select for any other reason.
Note: The DIAD will prompt you for a late air reason on enhanced UPS Next Day Air Saver and
UPS 2nd Day Air A.M. packages that are delivered past their commit times to a
commercial stop only. Only the first two choices will be transmitted to TTS. You will not be
prompted for a late air reason if a previous attempt was made prior to the commit time (with
the same DIAD).
