DIAD RESTART
The DIAD is able to restart after certain recoverable faults. These might include network switch
or certain hardware-related items. After a brief delay to restart the system, you can continue to
use the DIAD with most of the previous data intact.
1. When the DIAD determines that a recoverable fault has occurred, the DIAD Restart screen
displays.

2. The DIAD Restart Screen will show one of the following messages:
• “Network Switch” indicates no radio coverage, switching to cellular network.
• “Unexpected Restart” indicates a possible hardware problem.
Note: This process takes approximately 30 seconds to complete.
3. After restart occurs, the Acknowledge DIAD Restart screen displays.

4. You must acknowledge this screen by pressing Big Arrow Up The DIAD will return
to the function that was active prior to the restart.
Note: The DIAD will attempt to restart a defined number of times (default is five) during the
day. After reaching that defined number, the DIAD will go to Basecom without any
additional restart attempts.
