Radio Status Indicator
Some DIAD III units are supplied with a built-in radio for use in transmitting data directly rather
than through a DVA. Units without radios will communicate through the DVA in the same way
as for DIAD II. An indication of whether a DIAD is equipped with a radio or is operating
through the DVA is shown on the Main Menu, the Verify Driver Information, and the Statistics
Card menu as follows:
Route:20C Date:10/19/98
Battery: E||||||||| F RADIO
SpclCnts IntlChk PreComm
Battery: E||||||||| F DVA
If the radio becomes inoperable, the RADIO indicator shown below displays. The service
provider must then use the Speaker-Comm system for communication.
