TEXT MESSAGES (Communications Menu Option 3)

Text Messages Overview

The DIAD is capable of sending and receiving text messages. These messages can alert you to

traffic problems, Next Day Air arrivals, meet points, etc. You can receive two types of

messages:

• Response Required.

• Text.

To send and receive this essential information, you need to establish contact between the DIAD

and the ODS system. This link or log-in automatically occurs.

Text Only Messages

When a text message is sent by the dispatch site or center, it is displayed on the Text Message

Alert screen.

Read the text message, making a mental note of its contents.

Note: If you were in the process of completing a stop when you received the text message,

you could defer it once by using Soft key ¤ beneath “PreRec”. This is also true for On

Demand event alerts. If you defer an alert while other alerts are pending for display, the DIAD

will automatically defer the other alerts as well.

The DIAD displays the text message again following the next stop complete. To exit the

message permanently, press Big Arrow Up .
