scramblingsolution.Thesignalinganduseridentication
portionsofatransmissionarenotscrambled.
Yourradiomusthaveprivacyenabledonthechannelto
sendaprivacy-enabledtransmission,althoughthisisnota
necessaryrequirementforreceivingatransmission.Whileona
privacy-enabledchannel,theradioisstillabletoreceiveclear
(unscrambled)transmissions.
Yourradiosupportstwotypesofprivacy:
•BasicPrivacy
•EnhancedPrivacy.
OnlyONEoftheprivacytypesabovecanbeassignedtothe
radio.
Tounscrambleaprivacy-enabledcallordatatransmission,
yourradiomustbeprogrammedtohavethesamePrivacyKey
(forBasicPrivacy),ORthesameKeyValueandKeyID(for
EnhancedPrivacy)asthetransmittingradio.
Ifyourradioreceivesascrambledcallthatisofadifferent
PrivacyKey,ORadifferentKeyValueandKeyID,youwill
eitherhearagarbledtransmission(BasicPrivacy)ornothingat
all(EnhancedPrivacy).
Iftheradiohasaprivacytypeassigned,theHomescreen
showstheSecureorUnsecureicon,exceptwhentheradiois
sendingorreceivinganEmergencycalloralarm.
