MakingaGroupCall
Tomakeacalltoagroupofusers,yourradiomustbe
conguredaspartofthatgroup.
1Dooneofthefollowing.
•SelectthechannelwiththeactivegroupaliasorID.See
SelectingaChannelonpage29
•PresstheprogrammedOneTouchAccessbutton.
2PressthePTTbuttontomakethecall.
TheLEDlightsupsolidgreen.TheGroupCalliconappears
inthetoprightcorner.Thersttextlineshowsthegroup
callalias.
3WaitfortheTalkPermitT onetonish(ifenabled),and
speakclearlyintothemicrophone.
4ReleasethePTTbuttontolisten.
Whenthetargetradioresponds,theLEDblinksgreen,the
radiounmutesandtheresponsesoundsthroughtheradio’s
speaker.YouseetheGroupCallicon,thegroupaliasorID,
andtransmittingradioaliasorIDonyourdisplay.
5IftheChannelFreeIndicationfeatureisenabled,youheara
shortalerttonethemomentthetransmittingradioreleases
thePTTbutton,indicatingthechannelisfreeforyouto
respond.PressthePTTbuttontorespond.
Ifthereisnovoiceactivityforapredeterminedperiodof
time,thecallends.Radioreturnstothescreenyouwere
onpriortoinitiatingthecall.
MakingaPrivateCall
Whileyoucanreceiveand/orrespondtoaPrivateCall
initiatedbyanauthorizedindividualradio,yourradiomustbe
programmedforyoutoinitiateaPrivateCall.
TherearetwotypesofPrivateCalls.Thersttype,wherea
radiopresencecheckisperformedpriortosettingupthecall,
whiletheothersetsupthecallimmediately.
Onlyoneofthesecalltypescanbeprogrammedtoyourradio
byyourdealer.
