Digital Options
One or more of the following options may be preprogrammed in
your radio. Check with your dealer or system administrator for
more information.
Using the PL Defeat Feature
This feature allows you to override any coded squelch (DPL or
PL) that might be preprogrammed to a channel. The radio will
also unmute to any digital activity on a digital channel.
Procedure:
Place the preprogrammed PL Defeat switch in the PL Defeat
position. You hear any activity on the channel.
OR
The radio is muted if no activity is present.
Note: When this feature is active, the Carrier Squelch status
indicator is displayed.
Option Result
Digital Carrier-Operated
Squelch (COS)
You hear any digital traffic.
Normal Squelch
You hear any digital traffic having
the correct network access code.
Selective Switch
You hear any digital traffic having
the correct network access code
and correct talkgroup.
