INSTALLATION
General
SAFETY SUMMARY
NOTICE:
It is recommended that the transmitter be
installed such that the antenna and the
transmitter are kept 7.8 in (20 cm) from
passersby when transmitting.
The AMR RF transmitter should be installed by
qualified and authorized technicians.
Federal regulations forbid air transport of an
enabled transmitter. If an enabled transmitter
is to be transported by air, the transmitter
housing must be opened and the battery
terminals and capacitor must be unsoldered.
The installation of the AMR RF transmitter includes the
following steps, which should be performed in order
below:
1. Programming any changes to the transmitter
parameters, if necessary;
2. Enabling the transmitter;
3. Installing the transmitter (either on the wall or in a
pit);
4. Recording transmission counter values/meter readings
and forwarding them to the host.
