WARNING ADDITIONAL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS LUMOS LED/
HBO100 MERCURY LAMP
Ɣ While LED/HBO100 are generally safe illumination systems, precautions should still be taken with
this powerful Fluorescence Illumination products.
Ɣ When operating these products, please observe the following safety precautions at all times.
Failure to do so may result in injuries or damage.
Ɣ Strong UV light may be emitted from the products depending on the wavelength selected. Avoid
eye and skin exposure at all times. Never look directly into the light output of the Light Source. The
emissions could irreversibly damage eyes or skin
Ɣ Always ensure that the Light Source is securely attached to the microscope prior to turning on the
power.
Ɣ Disconnecting the mains power supply is achieved by unplugging the power cord from the power
socket. Only plug in the power cable, once the Light Source is attached to the microscope.
Ɣ Change of Light bulb: The Exchange of HBO100 Light bulb must strictly follow the dedicated
Instruction Manual!
Ɣ There are no serviceable parts within the Lumos LED Fluorescence Lamp. Removing any of the
screws and covers will result in the safety of being impaired.
Ɣ The DC power supply unit should be inspected periodically throughout the lifetime of the system.
Ɣ Any electronic equipment connected to this product must comply with the requirements of EN/IEC
60950 and other locally valid safety rules and standards.
Ɣ If the light source mercury lamp breaks, the broken glass may be scattered and hurt human beings
and/or the instruments. The gas inside the lamp will be released into the air bringing about the
danger of inhaling the mercury vapor. So, all the personnel must immediately leave the room so
as not to inhale the mercury vapor. Further, thoroughly ventilate the room for at least 30 minutes.
