Ɣ If the filter turret is not filled with five filter cubes, there is the risk that UV rays will reach the eyes
through an empty space,causing serious harm.
Ɣ Never perform lamp centering without the UV filter cube in the optical path as harmful UV radiation
from the lamp may enter the eyes, possibly resulting in loss of vision.
x During operation with the Mercury lamp always block the reflected light beam path by using the
Shutter slider during operating the microscope in transmitted light working mode.
3.11.1 Assemble the filter set into the turret
Note: Please avoid separating the filter cube itself. As inside dichroic mirror is direction selective,
wrongre-assembly can destroy the filter element.
Please remove the filter cube for transportation
Step 1: Remove the eyepiece tube by opening the clamp screw and move the eyepiece tube out of its
dovetail mount. (Fig. 29-1)
Step 2: Open the two clamp screw mounted Filter cube Cover with the screwdriver delivered with Epi
FS6 Turret package. (Fig. 29-2)
Step 3: Place the filter cube into the dovetail mount of the filter turret. (Fig. 29-3)
Step 4: Insert plastic riveton both sides, press down with the thumb. (Fig. 29-4)
The head of the upper part of the rivet has to touch the lower flange.
Step 5: Position the remaining filter cubes using the same procedure (Fig. 29-3 and Fig. 29-4) so that
there are **six filter cubes in the turret. (Fig. 29-5)
Step 6: Replace the filter cube cover and secure with 2 clamp screws. (Fig. 29-6)
