3. HEALTH HAZARD DATA
Effects of Overexposure:
Ingestion: Low Toxicity if swallowed in small amounts. Swallowing
large amounts can result in gastrointestinal irritation and
may cause vomiting and/or diarrhea.
Skin Contact: Brief Contact is non-irritating. Prolonged contact may cause skiin
skin irritation, especially when skin is moist, scratched or cut.
Eye Contact: May cause severe eye irritation or corneal injury.
Inhalation: Dust may cause irritation to nose and throat, and symptoms may include coughing,
dryness and sore throat. Vapors are unlikely due to physical properties.
Acute Systemic Effects: Dehydration and congestion may occur in internal organs. Hypertonic salt solutions
can produce inflammatory reactions in the gastrointestinal tract. For the major
components: Salt LD50 (rat) =3,000 mg/kg, CaCl
2
LD50 (rat) = 1,000 mg/kg
Chronic Systemic Effects: Acute effects may be delayed.
4. EMERGENCY AND FIRST AID PROCEDURES
Eye Contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes; remove contact
lenses. Call a physician if irritation persists.
Skin Contact: Wash exposed area with soap and water. Get medical advice if irritation develops.
Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention for any breathing difficulty.
Ingestion: Do not induce vomiting. If large amounts were swallowed, get medical advice.
5. FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD DATA
This material does not burn. If exposed to fire from another source use suitable extinguishing agent for that fire.
