Users Instructions (cont.)
Solid Hotplates (cont.)
Note! When first lighting the appliance or after installation or after an extended shut-down period, it
may be necessary for gas control knob to remain pushed in for some time before burner will light, owing
to the presence of air in gas line.
To Turn Off:
Turn the gas tap knob (C) fully clockwise (beyond the “Full On” position) to the “Off” position λ.
Drip Tray:
A drip tray is fitted beneath the burners to catch any spillage. During normal use this drip tray and
handle get hot. Only remove the tray after it has cooled or with suitable gloves.
It is normal for the solid top burner to be turned fully on in operation, the heat to the pans and cooking
vessels being controlled by the user placing the vessel on a hot or cool part of the solid top as desired.
DO NOT OPERATE WITH THE CENTRAL PORTION OUT OF POSITION.
The hottest zone of the solid top is directly over the removable central portion - use this position for
boiling or fast cooking. The coolest areas are at the RH and LH sides of the solid top.
Experience will determine where to position the pans for slower methods of cooking, say for simmering
or for the stockpot.
Note! Using oversize pans (say above 8”) on either the open top hotplates will result in discoloration of
the splashback. However, this is not detrimental to the appliance.
