6.2 SOUND CATEGORY
SOUND CATEGORY allows you to assign the current preset to one of
32 pre-dened sound categories. This function is intended to assist in
organizing presets for quick identication when auditioning sounds. This is
especially useful in conjunction with the Voyager Editor/Librarian
software.
The assignable sound categories are:
- Harmonics
- Ring
- Noise
- Soft Bass
- Bright Bass
- Res Bass
- Sub Bass
- Sound FX.
- Not Assigned
- Piano
- Organs
- Strings
- Clav
- Pads
- Soft Lead
- Bright Lead
- Res Lead
- Sync
- Brass
- Horn
- Instruments
- Evolution
- Motion
- Interval
- Synth
- Vox
- Bells
- Sequence
- Percussion
- Model D
- Classic
- Generic
The preset sound categories only appear on the bottom line of the display when ‘CATEGORY’ is selected in
the Help/Category menu in Panel Mode. For more information, refer to the ‘HELP/CATEGORY’ function in
Panel Mode (see page 48).
6.3 PRESET NAME
PRESET NAME allows the you to assign a name to a preset. Preset names
contain up to 24 characters on two twelve-character lines. Characters
are selected by moving the cursor arrow to the desired character location
with the CURSOR button and scrolling through the character list using
the -1/+1 buttons. Each press of the CURSOR button moves the cursor
arrow one character position to the right, moving rst across the top row
and then across the bottom row. When the cursor arrow reaches the last
character position, it wraps back to the rst character position. At any time, you can use the ENTER button
to return the cursor arrow to the rst character position.
The available characters are:
