Low Frequency Oscillator Parameters
The LFOs in the MP-201 offer a wide variety of options for control. This section will
provide the in-depth information you need to know in order to program and use the
LFOs effectively.
LFO WAVEFORMS
The LFOs in the MP-201 offer a choice of ve different waveforms, plus noise. Several
of these waveforms are ideal for producing familiar modulation effects, while others
permit more exotic possibilities. The LFO Waveforms are:
TRIANGLE - This wave is ideal for creating smoothly changing
modulation effects like vibrato and tremolo, as well as undulating
chorus, phasing and anging effects.
SQUARE - This wave is ideal for creating modulation effects like
trills, or rapid ON/OFF or LEFT/RIGHT modulations.
SAW DOWN - This wave is useful for creating modulation
effects that continually fall or ‘close down’.
RAMP UP - This wave is useful for creating ‘bubbly’ modulation
effects that continually rise or ‘open up’.
S+H RANDOM - This wave is useful for creating the classic
‘Sample & Hold’ modulation effect.
NOISE - Noise is similar to the white noise associated with
radio static or crashing surf. Noise is useful in creating random,
rough modulation textures. Note that footpedal movements will
change the nature of the Noise output.
