orifice cap by pulling it off the pilot assembly. The cap will snap
off with slight pressure; the orifice must be removed with an allen
key. (See Figure 3b)
9b. Install the new orifice from the package marked 'Pilot Orifice' in
this kit to convert to the pilot to the new gas. Tighten the orifice
securely with an allen key. Re-attach the pilot hood, making sure
the notch in the hood lines up with the tab on the pilot assembly.
6. Before re-assembling the gas tubing, the gas valve must be
converted to operate on the new gas.
Some models use a SIT On/Off (non-adjustable) gas control
valve, which has reversible regulator. The face of the regulator
is marked to show which gas it is currently set for. Remove the
regulator with a slotted screwdriver and flip it over. Re-insert the
regulator and screw it in snugly. The face of the fitting should
now show the name of the new gas .
7. If the fireplace is equipped with a SIT Hi/Lo gas control valve,
replace the regulator by removing the three screws as shown in
Figure 2, and install the new regulator supplied with this kit.
8. Reassemble the gas fittings.
Pilot Assembly (Type SIT):
9a. If the fireplace is equipped with a SIT pilot, remove pilot hood/

snap off; the orifice must be removed with an allen key.

Pilot Assembly (Type PSE):
10a. If the fireplace is equipped with a PSE pilot, carefully unscrew
the pilot tubing and remove the pilot orifice. Replace it with the
new orifice supplied with this kit. Re-attach and tighten the pilot
tubing, taking care not to damage the tubing by overbending or
pinching it. (See figure 4a.)

10b. Install the new orifice from the package marked 'Pilot Orifice'
in this kit to convert to the pilot to the new gas. The pilot orifice
has a small marking on the side to indicate its size and which
gas it is for. Ensure that you install the correct orifice in the pilot
assembly. (See figure 4b.)
