More than just a scaled down of the 33cc version, Black
Horse have kept all the good features as well. That
characteristic aggressive shape remains faithful to scale
where possible yet, still provides the performance and
handling of a much more stable sports style model. By
fitting a .61 size 2-stroke or .91 size 4-stroke engine, this
new Bf109E will really sparkle and most of the engine
will fit inside the cowl as well. Electric motor setups
are also possible. Air retracts and a set of oleo struts are
included and flaps are also standard. That fabulous scale
colour scheme is is recreated in authentic colours.
Most Hurricanes of this size are usually semi-scale. The Black
Horse Hurricane .46 size is far from semi-scale. Just look at
that curving fuselage and cowling plus correctly shaped, flat
top wing. Those beautiful exhausts stacks really add to the
realism. Everything possible has been reproduced to match
the real aircraft’s character without spoiling the need for
safe, predictable flying characteristics. Using a .46 2-stroke
or a .70 4-stroke will be enough to haul this Hurricane around
with authority and that Battle of Britain scheme is
something to behold. The undercarriage is supplied
fixed, but retracts can be fitted if required.
Some shapes look good small or large and the new Black
Horse Sea Fury .46 size packs so much into such a
compact sized model. From a few yards away, it would be
hard to tell it from its much larger sibling. No flat fuselage
sides and bottom here, just sexy curves and an aggressive
looking radial engine cowl. That cowl has the added bonus
of hiding most of any engine that you fit yet provides really
good cooling for warm days. Just like the real one, the
wings have multi-sections and that semi-elliptical shape
giving docile handling at low speed. Undercarriage is
fixed but retracts can be fitted if required.
From every angle she is certainly a Spitfire! Whether it’s the
fabulously multi-curved fuselage or those famous elliptical
wings, there is no doubting this is a real thoroughbred.
Those complex shapes are all created in ply and balsawood
using the techniques that Black Horse has developed over
the years. The authentic colour scheme is printed on self-
adhesive vinyl and expertly applied in the factory. Even the
best modellers would struggle to match the construction
and keep her so light as well. Strap in a .61 2-stroke
or even the new OS GGT-15 to really carve up the sky. Air
retracts and oleos are included with the model.
