SuperThin Large Articulating Mount ™ This SuperThin mount is designed to mount 42"– 63" (106 – 160 cm) flatscreen televisions to vertical walls. Maximum weight capacity is 120 lbs. (54.43 kg). Before installing, carefully review the instructions to ensure that no parts are missing or defective. Improper installation can cause damage or serious injury. Required Tools Pre-Installation Checklist Wall Stud Mounting ❏❏ For wood stud mounting, your mounting location must have at least two wall studs. Level (included) Electronic studfinder (included) Electric hand drill ³∕₁₆" drill bit Phillips screwdriver Wrench or socket set Masking tape Masonry Mounting (brick, concrete, concrete blocks) Above tools Replace ³∕₁₆" drill bit with ½" masonry drill bit Hammer ❏❏ Your view of the mounting location must be free of glare or other obstructions.
Installing the Wall Mounting Plate Remove all pieces of the wall mounting system to ensure you have all necessary parts. Adjust Wall Plate Location With supplied Allen key, loosen bolts on wall plate and position wall plate in the desired sliding slots of wall plate rails. You may have to remove the 4 bolts and 4 washers. Once you have bolted the rails to the wall, it will be difficult to slide the wall plate sideways.
Wood Stud Mounting An electronic studfinder is included. Remove plastic tab on the back of the studfinder to activate battery. To locate a wall stud, hold the studfinder against the wall where you want to mount your TV. Push down the button on the studfinder and slide the studfinder along the wall until the indicator light goes on. 1 Locate two adjacent wall studs at least 12" (31.5cm) apart at your desired mounting location.
Wood Stud Mounting (cont’d) 3 With your electric drill and ³∕₁₆" bit, pre-drill a 3" deep hole where indicated on template. After drilling holes, remove template from wall. 4 Position the wall mounting plate rails over the holes drilled in the wall studs. 5 Make sure the wall plate rails are level by using the supplied bubble level. Place the provided level on the wall plate rails and confirm that the rails are horizontally straight. Hold the plate firmly in place.
Wood Stud Mounting (cont’d) 6 With the help of another person, attach the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and round washers as shown to the right. Tighten each bolt with your wrench. Turn clockwise until secure. Continue to page 14 to continue your installation. DO NOT over tighten bolts. This can damage the wall plate or the surface of your wall. DO NOT release the wall plate until you are absolutely sure it is secured to the wall.
Masonry Mounting Masonry mounting requires specialized knowledge, skills and tools. Monster highly recommends that you seek the help of a professional installer when mounting to masonry. DO NOT drill holes in masonry mortar joints. 1 Position the supplied cardboard template in the desired location and tape template to wall with masking tape. Make sure the template is level by using the supplied bubble level.
Masonry Mounting (cont’d) 3 Install the supplied plastic concrete anchors in each hole. Tap into hole with hammer until fully seated. 4 Position the wall mounting plate rails over the holes drilled in the wall studs. 5 Make sure the wall plate rails are level by using the supplied bubble level. Place the level on the wall plate rails and confirm that the rails are horizontally straight. Hold the plate firmly in place.
Masonry Mounting (cont’d) 6 With the help of another person, attach the wall plate to the wall using the lag bolts and round washers as shown to the right. Tighten each bolt with your wrench. Turn clockwise until secure. DO NOT over tighten bolts. This can damage the wall plate or the surface of your wall. DO NOT release the wall plate until you are absolutely sure it is secured to the wall.
Attaching Your Flatscreen TV to the TV Mounting Brackets Do not lay your TV face down when attaching the TV mounting brackets. This can cause permanent damage to your screen. Lean it against a wall or other solid surface so it remains vertically upright. The television should be unplugged before threading any bolt or screw into the back panel. Your mounting system features 9 sets of screws of varying diameter and length.
Hanging Your Flatscreen TV on the Articulating Arm 1 With the help of another person, lift your TV up to mount level. Raise the TV just above the center plate on the end of articulating arm. 2 Hang brackets from appropriate keyholes on center bar depending on bracket spacing and desired height. See illustration at right. 3 4 Fix lower bracket with Allen bolts. With the supplied Allen key, tighten the Allen bolts to attach upper and lower brackets to back of TV. DO NOT over tighten Allen bolts.
Adjusting the Flexibility of the Tilt Mechanism 1 Using the supplied Allen key and hex wrench, adjust the bolts on the side of the articulating arm where it connects to the center plate to desired feel of the tilt mechanism. 2 To adjust tilt angle, gently pull top of TV while pushing the bottom to the desired position up to 12°. Do the opposite to tilt up.
Routing Your TV’s Power Cord and AV Cable through the Cable Management System 1 With the mount completely installed on the wall and your TV properly secured to the mount, fully extend the mount’s articulating arm. 2 Connect your TV’s power cord to the TV (if TV uses a detachable-type power cord). 3 Slide the cable channel covers off the articulating arm, as shown to the right.

Route AV cable from your wall, set-top box, AV receiver, or other source through the top channel, as shown to the right and make connections to your TV. 6 Slide the cable channel covers back into place. Cable channels are in place when you hear them click. 7 Plug the TV power cord into an AC outlet.
