The Ca]ifonfia Safe Drinking Water and
Toxic Enforcement Act requires the
Governor of Califimfia to publish a list

The fiberglass insulation in self-clem_ ovens
gives off a very small amount of carbon
monoxide during the clemfing cycle.
Exposure can be minimized by venting with
an open window or using a ventilation tim
or hood,
Gas applim_ces can cause minor exposure
to four of these substances, nalnelv benzene,
carbon monoxide, formaldehyde and soot,
caused primarily by the incomplete
combustion of natural gas or I,P filels.
Properly a(!justed burners, indicated by
a bhfish rather than a yellow flame, will
minimize incomplete combustion. Exposure
to these substances can be minimized bv
venting with an open window or using a
ventilation tim or hood.
SAbF,TY PRE CA UTIONS
When using your appliance, follow basic safety
precautions, including the following:
Have the installer show you the location of
the rmage gas shut-off valve and how to turn
it off if necessary.
Be sure all pacMng materials axe removed
from the range befiwe operating it to prevent
fire or smoke damage should the packing
material ignite.
After prolonged use of a rmage, high floor
temperatures may result and many floor
coverings will not withstm_d this kind of use.
Never install the range over vinyl tile or
linolemn that cannot withstand such use.
Never install it directly over interior kitchen
caq)eting.
Locate the rmage out of kitchen traffic path
and out of drafty locations and areas with
poor air circulation.
AWARNIN G:
All ranges can tip mad injury
could result. To prevent
accidental tipping of the range,
attach it to the wall by installing
the Anti-Tip device supplied.
To check if the device is
installed and engaged properly,
careflflly tip the range torward.
The Anti-Tip device should
engage and prevent the range
fl'om tii)ping over.
If w)u pull the range out fl'om the wall fin.
any reason, make sure the device is properly
engaged when vou push the range back
against the wall.
If it is not, there is a possible risk of the range
tipping over and ca using iI_jm'y if vou or a
child stand, sit or lean on an open door.

Failure to take this precaution could result in
