Detergents
Useonly detergentspecificallymadefor usein
dishwashers.Cascade®,CascadeComplete®and
Electrasol®AutomaticDishwashingDetergentshave
beenapprovedfor useinall MonogramDishwashers.
Keepyour powdereddetergentfreshanddry.Don'tput
detergentintothe dispenseruntilyou'rereadyto wash
dishes.
AllwashcyclesexceptRINSEONLYrequiredetergent.
Theamountof detergentto usedependson whether
yourwateris hardor soft.
Protectyour dishesanddishwasherby contactingyour
waterdepartmentandaskinghowhardyour wateris.
Twelveor moregrainsisextremelyhardwatenAwater
softeneris recommended.Withoutit, limecan build
upinthe watervalve,whichcouldstickwhileopenand
causeflooding.Toomuchdetergentwith softwater
cancausea permanentcloudinessof glassware,
calledetching.

Usethe right amountof detergent.Asa guide:
ForSoftwater(waterhardnesslessthan 4GrainsPer
Gallon[GPG]),fillcup tothe firstline.
ForMediumsoftwater(4-8GPG),fillcupto thesecondline.
ForMediumhardwater(8-12GPG),fill cup.
ForExtremelyhardwater(morethan 12GPG),fillbothcups.

Do not use hand dish detergent.
=_ NOTE:Using a detergent
that is not specifically designed
for dishwashers will cause the
dishwasher to fill with suds.
During operation, these suds will
spill out of the dishwasher vents,
covering the kitchen floor and making the floor wet.
Becauseso many detergent containers look alike,
store the dishwasher detergent in a separate space
from all other cleaners. Showanyone who may use the
dishwasher the correct detergent and where it is stored.
While there will be no lasting damage to the dishwasher,
your dishes will not get clean using a dishwashing
detergent that isnot formulated to work with dishwashers.
