MONOMACHINE AND MIDI
The Monomachine is designed to fit well into a MIDI environment. It is well
equipped for controlling other units through the MIDI Sequencer, the MIDI
real-time messages (Timing clock, Start, Stop) and Song Pointer Position. It
is also ready for a large number of control methods to fit in a wide range of
environments.
The MIDI settings are found in the Global menu ”CONTROL”. Open the Glo-
bal menu by pressing [GLOBAL] while holding [FUNCTION]. The following
sections will go through all the Global menus dealing with MIDI, and discuss
some general Monomachine MIDI issues.
MIDI CHANNELS
The MIDI channel setup of the Monomachine is found in the
CONTROL>MIDI CHANNELS menu as printed below:
Navigate between the parameters using the [UP] and [DOWN] keys.
Change the parameter values using [LEFT] and [RIGHT].
By default the Monomachine responds to 9 MIDI channels. The first channel
used is the Base Channel. The Base channel can become one of the chan-
nels listed below depending on which are activated. If all channels are disa-
bled the Monomachine use no MIDI channels at all, only real-time data and
SYSEX.
The first six channels directly control each of the six Monomachine
tracks and are named the Individual Track Channels
One Multi Trig channel
One Multi Map channel
One Auto Track channel
The number of MIDI channels used for Individual Track Channels is set by
the Channel Span parameter. The Individual Track Channels is mainly use-
ful if you are using the Monomachine as a sound module. If you use the
Monomachine in Pattern, Song, Multi Trig or Multi Map mode, and you do
not have the MIDI-channels to spare, you can disable the Individual Track
Channels by reducing Channel Span to zero. You will see the channel-
