SIMPLIFLEX INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Site Preparation:
Approved Substrates
Concrete that is on, above or below grade in the absence of excessive moisture and alkalinity
Underlayment grade OSB
Cut back residue when reduced to a ne lm
APA registered underlayment plywood
Gypsum or light weight concrete primed with TEC Multipurpose Primer 560
Radiant heated suboors less than 85°F (29° C)
*
Non-cushion backed sheet vinyl
VCT
Above and below grade terrazzo with waxes and polishes removed
*
Note: Aftermarket radiant heating systems require the approval of resilient ooring over their systems from the manufacturer of the radiant heating system
Substrate Preparation
Floor must be structurally sound, clean, at (within 3/16” in a 10ft. span), and dry. Remove all foreign substances such as existing adhesives, wax, grease, dirt,
concrete curing compounds, and any other substance that would interfere with a good bond. DO NOT USE CHEMICAL ADHESIVE REMOVERS. Fill all holes
and cracks with a cement based patching compound and sand high spots.Porous surfaces require priming the surface with TEC Multipurpose Primer 560
allowing for proper bonding of the adhesive.
Moisture Testing
Test all concrete substrates for moisture emissions, following ASTM F-1869 Anhydrous Calcium chloride test method. Testing should not exceed 10 lb./1000 sq. ft.
/24 hours (3.6 kg/93 sq. m/24 hours) and ASTM F-2170 test method should not exceed 90% RH or less (using TEC Universal Pressure Sensitive Adhesive). If both tests are
performed, the RH test is the qualifying standard.
Installation Instructions:
1. Prepare the substrate in accordance with substrate preparation instructions above.
2. The jobsite needs to be maintained at 45°F – 115°F (7°C - 46°C) 24 hours before, during and after installation. The adhesive is dry during installation and
needs 24 hours cure time after install.
3. Application of adhesive: Please pay special attention to the additional application of TEC Multipurpose Primer 560 over porous surfaces.
ROLL ON APPLICATION FOR TRANSITIONAL FULL SPREAD INSTALLATION METHOD
Paint roller and coverage:
3/8”nap paint roller | Over non-porous or primed substrates (dry to touch) (LVT/LVP) | Up to 350 sq. ft./gal 7.4-8.6 sq. m. / l.
Using a 3/8” nap paint roller, apply TEC Universal Pressure Sensitive Adhesive after fully saturating the roller. The application should always be an even and
heavy coat with an orange peel texture. The adhesive requires drying to the touch assuring no adhesive transfers to your nger or hand when touched. Note:
Porous surfaces require priming the surface using the TEC Multipurpose Primer 560 and allowing to dry.
TROWEL ON APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT INSTALLATION METHOD*
Trowel size and coverage:
1/16” x 1/32” U notch | 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.8mm | Up to 260 sq. ft. /gal 5.4-6.4 sq. m.
Coverage is approximate and may vary depending on porosity of substrate and the angle at which the trowel is held. IT IS THE INSTALLER’S RESPONSIBILITY TO
