10 USING ITUNES WITH THE MOBOTIX APP
Apple iTunes provides several handy functions that you can use in conjunction with the MOBOTIX App.
Connect your mobile device to a computer with iTunes on it.
10.1 Transferring MxPEG
®
Clips (Demo Clips) To The App
One of the sections above described how to use the MOBOTIX App to open MxPEG clips directly as e-mail
attachments. However, you can also use iTunes to transfer and delete demo clips. This is useful when you are
dealing with multiple clips or if you mobile device cannot provide e-mail access.
Steps:
In the iTunes window’s menu bar on the left, select your connected mobile device from ”Devices”.
On the ”Devices” page, select ”Apps” from the section choices at the top.
In the ”Apps” list at the bottom, select ”MOBOTIX”. A list of ”MOBOTIX Documents” appears on the right. This
contains all the demo clips you have added already (file extension: *.mxg).
Click on ”Add” to add any *.mxg files from your computer directly to the App’s list of demo clips. You can
also delete any superfluous clips from this list, which directly removes them from the App.
10.2 Changing The Name Of Your Mobile Device (for example, for MxEasy
®
)
If you want to give your iPad/iPhone/iPod touch a dierent device name, for example, to make it easier to identify
in MxEasy’s list of available remote stations (such as ”iPad parents”), you can do this very quickly in iTunes. In the
iTunes window’s menu bar on the left, double-click on your connected mobile device under ”Devices”. Simply
write over the existing name, click on ”Return” and confirm the dialog box with ”Apply”.
