Automatically Using DHCP3.1.3
The camera can automatically obtain its network parameters using DHCP. This requires the
network to have a functioning DHCP server (e.g. a DSL router with activated DHCP server)
and the camera must be booted using DHCP (see section 3.2.5,
Starting the Camera With
an Automatic IP Address (DHCP)
). The IP address automatically assigned by the DHCP
sever will be announced via the camera speaker as soon as the camera has booted
successfully.
Advantages
You can connect the camera directly to the target network.
Network parameters are automatically assigned.
No additional software is required.
You do not need to access the camera user interface.
Disadvantages
The camera needs to be physically accessible, as you need to press a key on
the camera to boot it using DHCP.
Requires a functioning DHCP server on the network.
