What Is MxBus?
The interface boxes are connected via MiniUSB or MxBus directly to a camera and are powered by it as
well. MxBus is a MOBOTIX-developed, encrypted, two-wire bus system up to 100 m (109 yards) in length
and is used to flexibly add new functions to a video system.
Weatherproof Interface Boxes
Input-Box
Flexible camera sensor expansion by connecting up to six external sensors
per box (for example, window and door contacts, light barriers etc.). The
MX-Input-Box is a peripheral device that connects to the camera via
MxBus and provides it with six galvanically isolated, self-powered inputs.

Output-Box
Flexible system expansion with connection of up to eight peripheral
devices per box (for example, power relay for lighting, garage door drive,
blinds, etc.). In addition to the four MxBus terminals, the MX-Output-Box
includes a total of eight signal outputs, of which six are self-powered
(12 V DC, max. 10mA per output) and two are potential-free.

232-IO-Box
Expansion box for connecting external sensors and for switching external
devices via MOBOTIX cameras; RS232 interface, connection to camera via
MiniUSB or MxBus. Includes two galvanically isolated, self-powered signal
inputs and two 12 V relay outputs. One 232-IO-Box can be connected to
the camera’s USB port and one to the camera’s MxBus port to double
the number of signal inputs and outputs.
