1.4.1.1 Radio-to-Radio Cross-connection
Figure 1-2 shows two different types of radios patched together. Normally a Type A radio can
communicate with any other Type A radio that’s “in range, or with a repeater” but the signals
from the Type A radios are completely ignored by the Type B radios, and vice-versa. The
ACU-1000’s DSP modules take the Type A radio’s audio and control signals, translate the
control signals into a PTT for the Type B radio, and sends the Type B radio this control signal
along with the audio.
