a. Creating and sending
To create a message enter the Messages menu and select the Write option. This places you into the text entry
mode and you can compose a message as described in the entering text section. After completing the message
press the up volume key and the left soft key becomes (Options). Press the left soft key (options) and the follow-
ing choices are available: Send, Save, Discard.
i. Send
Selecting the Send option places you into the dial screen. You can either dial a number to send the message
to, or press the up volume key which makes the left soft key (Names). Press the left soft key (names) to enter the
phone book. From here use the navigation keys to highlight the desired entry. Next press the left soft key (select).
Verify the number and if correct press the left soft key (send) or the Send key to send the message. If the number
needs to be edited press the volume up key to change the number and then press the volume up key to get back
the send option on the left soft key.
ii. Save
Selecting the Save option brings you to the dial screen. From here you can assign a number to the message
before saving it. The number can be dialed or an entry from the phone book can be selected. Upon saving the
message it appears in the draft list.
iii. Discard
Selecting discard terminates the message and does not save it.
b. Retrieving
i. From the Home screen
If a message has been received there will be a message on the home screen and the left soft key will change to
(Read). There will also be the text message icon displayed at the top of the Home screen. Press the left soft key
(read) to display all new, unread messages.
ii. From the Messages menu
Select the read option, and then inbox to retrieve any messages.
c. Settings
Select this menu option to update the settings for messaging. The options are:
i. Service Center Number
Used to view and edit the service center number for messaging. Do not change this number unless instructed

iv. Call
Places a call to the number of the entry selected.
v. Copy
This will copy the entry from the current selected book to the other. For example, from the SIM to the local stor-
age.
vi. Move
This will move the selected entry from the current selected phone book to the other not selected book. For ex-
ample, from the SIM to the local storage.
vii. Delete
Will delete the current entry.
g. Dialing from the phonebook
After entering the phone book list, highlight an entry and press the Send key to dial it.
