Baseband
The physical radio layer.
LMP
Handles Bluetooth link establishment, authentication, and encryption.
HCI
Provides a uniform method of accessing the Bluetooth baseband capabilities by exposing a
command interface to the baseband controller and link manager, and access to hardware status
and control registers.
L2CAP
Logical Link Control and Adaptation Layer Protocol (L2CAP) provides the following functions:
• Multiplexing data between the different higher-layer protocols
• Segmentation and reassembly of data packets
• Providing one-way transmission management of multicast data to a group of other
Bluetooth devices
• Quality of service (QOS) management for higher-layer protocols
