Messages in the outbox
The outbox contains unsent draft messages, stored sent messages as well
as sent but undelivered messages, identified by their headers. These mes-
sages can be selected from the outbox menu and can be modified and re-
sent as new SMS messages in the normal way.
To select an outbox message,
Status request on outbox messages
If the status is requested on a delivered message the date and time of de-
livery may be shown. If the status is requested on a sent message a status
request will be sent to the network (must be network supported). The net-
work will answer by sending a status report (SR) back to the phone which
can be acknowledged by pressing OK .
To action a status request on outbox messages,
Select Store.
Press Exit or to return to the standby display.
Press . Select Messages.
Select
Outbox
and use
or
to scroll to the desired message.
Messages will either be "transmitted" ( ) or "to be sent" ( ).
Press Options to read, delete, send (or re-send) to one
addressee, edit a sent message and send (or re-send) to several
addressees (Multicast).
Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
Press Options . The following menu will be displayed:
Item Action
Read text Reads the message text.
Delete Deletes the message from the SIM.
Status
Gets the status of a sent message, if a status
associated to the message is stored in the SIM.
If no status is known, this one is directly
requested to the network.
Note: Even if a status is requested, the answer
is not immediately sent by the network and
will be received at any time. In some cases,
this option is not supported by the network.
Send
Sends or re-sends a message sent with or
without text modification.
Note: The message parameters are requested
if some are missing (templates or not).
Edit Modifies the current message.
Multicast
Same at the Send option, but several
destination numbers can be entered.
Select the action required.
