Press the MENU button on the remote coatrol. The "VCR
Main Menu" appears on your screen. Use the ADJUST dial on
the remote control to move the cursor next to "Program to
record." Turn the shuttle ring right.
If there is already a programmed recording, you will see the
"recap" screen. You can choose an empty recording slot, or
wait four seconds and the VCR will automatically choose the
first empty slot.
You will see the VCR Plus+ "Program to :ecord" menu. (For

more information on using VCR Plus+ to program your V ,R,
see page 42.) Turn the shuttle ring right _o skip this screen.

O You will see the "Program to record" menu. Turn the
ADJUST dial to choose the channel you would like to record
(for example, channel 2). Turn the shuttle ring right.
If you are using a cable box that the VCR cannot control,
enter the channel number on which the cable box sends a
signal to your VCR (usually channe:[ 3 or 4).

If you wish to record from an external source, press the INPUT
button or turn the ADJUST dial until "Exl_ernal LI" or "F,xternal
L2" appears. Select "External LI" when you wish to record from
an external source using the input terminal,; on the rear panel;
select "External L2" when you wish to record from an external
source connected to the input terminals on the front panel.
The "Day" will flash. Turn the ADJUST dial to highlight the
day on which you want to. record (for example, Monday the
nineteenth). Turn the shuttle ring right.
When selecting a day, your choices are: a single day up to one
month away, every day from Monday through Friday, or the same
day every week. To :program for every day from Monday l_hrough
Friday (to tape a soap opera, for example), turn the ADJUST dial
until "Monday-Friday" appears. To program the same day every
week (to tape your favorite weekly sitcom, fl)r example), turn the
ADJUST dial until "Every" and the desired day of the week
appear.
The hour numbers of the starting time, along with the am!pm
indicator, will flash. Turn the ADJUST dial to set the hour
when you wish recording to start. Turn the shuttle ring right.
