Selectingand adjustingthe audio andvideo functions
Below are instructions on how to select and adjust the audio and
video functions. If you are not familiar with the purpose of these
functions, definitions begin below.
Before you begin, you need to know:
• how to view the picture coming frora your VCR (page 23).

Press the AUDIO button on the remote control to see the
audio function menu, or press the VIDE 9 button on the
remote control to see the video function menu.

Press the AUDIO or VIDEO button until the function you
want to adjust appears.
Turn the ADJUST dial on the remote to adjust the setting.
The functions will disappear if you do not press any buttons
for 5 seconds.
The audio and video function menus do not appear when the VCR
menu is displayed or during special effects playback. Additionally,
the recording speed (REC speed) and tape flmctions do not appear
during playback.
Descriptionsof audiofunctions
Below is a list of the audio flmctions, along with descriptions', of
their uses and their settings.
audiomonitor
The monitor flmctio:n allows you to listen to the various audio
tracks that your VCR is capable of recording. You can choose to
listen to a MONO track, both channels of the STEREO track, or
either of the channels (left (L) and right (R))of the stereo track.
