Customizing the A/V Memory position (cont,,)
adjusting the closed caption decoder
You can access the closed caption decoder screen using the MENU
button. When adjusting the closed caption decoder, you can use the
buttons on the remote control.

O Press the MENU button on the
remote control. The TV Main
Menu will appear on the screen.
O Use the ADJUST buttons to
"S " "A/V Memory"select _ elect
Press ENTER.
O Select the closed caption display
by pressing the ADJU_,T up/
clown buttons. Press the adjust
right or left button.

If you set the decoder to a "text" setting and tune to a broadcast
that, is not sending that text signal but is sending a different "text"
signal or a "standard" closed captions signal, a large black box: will
block your view of that channel. If you tune to a broadcast that is
not sending any "text" or "standard" closed captions, your view of
the channel will not be disturbed. Press HOME to make the black
box disappear.
If you cannot display any captions on the screen, please keep iin
mind that not all broadcasts, video tapes, or laserdiscs supply
closed caption signals.
Additionally, captions might not appear if:
you are playing a video tape that is worn or deteriorated
you are starting to play a laserdisc from still or search mode
