Using the remote control to operate cable boxes
and other brands of VCRs (cont.)
If your VCR does not turn on, repeat the, instructions, trying
each code number listed for your brand of VCR. If none of those
code numbers work, try each number, 0t through 20.

setting up the remote control to operate your cable box
O Turn on your cable box.
Press one of the select but:tons across the top of the remote
control to choose the layer that you want to "set up." You can
choose between VCR-A, VCR-B or CABLE.

While holding in the POWER button on _:he remote contro!,
enter the code number listed in the chart on the following page
for your brand of cable box. Be sure to enter both digits of the
number. If more than one number is listed, try the first one.
O Release the POWER button.
O
Press the POWER button again. Your cable box should turn off.
If the cable box turns off, your remote control is now set to
operate your cable box. If your cable box does not turn off,
repeat the instructions above, trying each number listed for
your brand of cable box. If' none of these numbers work, try
each number, 51 through 99.
_Important: You may need to press the CHANNEL button to turn your cable
box back on.
