Dlmportant: If you have selected "Captions" and "CH 1" or "CH 2," and tune to
a broadcaster that is not sending a caption signal, no captions will
appear.
[_Important:
The contents of captions are determined big the broadcaster. If
your captions show strange characters, misspellings or odd gcam-
mar, it is not a malfunction of the TV.
[_Important: If you have selected "Text" and "CH 1" or "C[-I 2," a large black box
will appear over the lower portion of the picture. The text informa-
tion will appear in this box; however, even if the broadcaster is not
sending any text information, the black box will still block the
lower portion of the picture.
Closed captions when muting
Your TV will automatically turn on "Captions CH 1" when you
turn off the sound by pressing the MUTE button on the remote
control. The captions will show only if the broadcaster is sending
the closed caption signal. "Captions CH 1" will be turned, off
automatically when you restore the sound using the MUTE button
again or if you turn off the TV.
