Using the remote control to operalLe VCRs, cable
boxes and other equipment
about your remote control
This TV's remote control has fi)ur "layers": the TV layer, the VCR
layer, the DVD layer, and the AUDIO layer. Each layer can be
used to operate a different component in your AN system. You.
choose the layer you want to use by setting the "select" switch
across the top of the remote control.
When you first receive your remote control, _;he TV layer is set up
to operate your Mitsubishi TV and VCR. The VCR layer is set to
operate your Mitsubishi VCR. The DVD layer is programmed to
operate your Mitsubishi DVD player. The AUDIO layer is pro-
grammed for your Mitsubishi AFV receiver.
You can use the following to operate your TV:

channel control (A, B, C, and D buttons)

If you have a cable box (including a digital satellite box), a non-
Mitsubishi VCR, a Mitsubishi laserdisc player, a Mitsubishi A/V
receiver, or a compact disc player, you can set up the layers in the
remote control to operate these components.
The VCR'layer can be set up to operate a non-Mitsubishi VCR. The
DVD layer can be set up to operate a VCR, cable box, digital[
satellite box, or a Mitsubishi laserdisc player. The AUDIO layer
can be set up to operate a cable box, a digital satellite box, a
Mitsubishi laserdisc player, or a Mitsubishi _[ receiver. The TV
layer can be set up to operate the volume control of a Mitsubishi
A/V receiver.

Set the select switch on the remote to choose the layer you
want to set up: VCR or DVD.
_While holding in the POWER button on the: remote control,
enter the code number listed in the chart on the next page for
your brand of VCR. Be sure to enter both digits of the code
number. If more than one number is listed, begin with the iirst
code listed.
