Refrigeration pipework
The pipework connections are inside the FDC unit. This
allows the pipes to exit from four different directions –
see below.
Refrigeration pipe sizes
It is essential that refrigeration pipe sizes are exactly as
those stated in the Product Data Tables.
• Do not deviate from the recommended pipe sizes.
• Do not exceed the maximum lengths.
• Do not exceed the maximum vertical separation.
Condensate drainage
Heat pump outdoor units will produce condensate water.
Ensure condensate water is able to drain effectively from
FDC 6 Series outdoor units
All units have ‘draw through’ air flow. Pipe connections/service valves are external to
the unit, at bottom right hand side. All units are fully weatherproof.
FDC 8 Series outdoor units
All units have ‘draw through’ air flow. Pipe connections/service valves are allowing
pipes to enter at side, front, bottom or rear. All units are fully weatherproof.
the unit. Raise the unit from the ground if necessary, to
ensure water does not enter the bottom of the unit.
Take necessary precautions to ensure condensate water
does not cause a freezing hazard in winter conditions.
Electrical connection
Ensure power cables are secure. Do not allow power
cables to pull on the electrical terminal connectors. Refer
to page 21 for details of electrical connections.
IMPORTANT
Do not run the unit until the required amount of refrigerant
is added to the system, and the outdoor unit shut-off
valves are in the open position. When power is connected,
the system will operate immediately.
