There are two types of captioning "standard" and "text." that broadcasters can send: Standard captioning is related to the program that is being shown. Standard captioning usually follows the dialogue of the characters on-screen. Text captioning often contains information such as weather or news.

Selecting an advanced PIP function When you are using the PIP features, there are special functions you can use. Before using these advanced functions, you need to choose one in the menu. In "Replay," you can view still PIP images in sequence for a "strobe" animation effect.

Understanding the On-Screen Displays Your TV provides an on-screen summary of the current settings for the TV, as well as the information related to Extended Data Services (XDS). XDS allows broadcasters to supply you with channel information, program information, and the currenl; time.
