Welcome WELCOME Congratulations on your purchase of the Mitel M680i Expansion Module! The M680i Expansion Module is designed to increase the power and flexibility of the 6800i Series IP telephones. Up to three modules can be used with the 6865i, 6867i, and 6869i phones to create a powerful, feature rich console option. 6865i 6867i 6869i Modules share power and signaling with the phone, eliminating the need for additional wiring.
Mitel M680i Expansion Module Installation Guide EXPANSION MODULE PARTS When you unpack the M680i Expansion Module package, you should ensure that you have all of the following items. If any part is missing, contact the supplier of your phone.
Installation INSTALLATION The M680i Expansion Module connects to the right side of the 6865i, 6867i, and 6869i IP phone via the connector plate. CONNECTING THE M680I EXPANSION MODULE TO YOUR PHONE Use the following procedure to connect the M680i Expansion Module to your IP phone: 1. Locate and remove the two connector plate insertion area rubber caps on the right side of the phone. Rubber Caps 2. Turn your phone over so that the back of the phone is facing you. 3.

Installation ATTACHING THE STAND 1. Locate the stand insertion area on the back of the M680i Expansion Module. 2. Carefully insert the stand into the insertion area and slide the stand towards the right until it snaps in place. Note: The orientation of the stand determines the viewing angle. If the bottom of the stand is installed facing the top of the module the viewing angle will be 35°. If the bottom of the stand is installed facing the bottom of the module the viewing angle will be 55°.

Insert the paper key card into the programmable key card slot on the front panel of the M680i Expansion Module using the indentation of the plastic for alignment. Installation ATTACHING MULTIPLE M680I EXPANSION MODULES Multiple M680i Expansion Modules (up to a total of three) can be daisy-chained to a phone providing an additional 48 programmable keys. Use the following procedure to connect additional M680i Expansion Modules to your IP phone: 1. Turn your phone and connected M680i Expansion Module over so that the back is facing you. 2. Turn your additional M680i Expansion Module(s) over so that the back of the module(s) is/are facing you.

Upgrades, Configuration, and Usage UPGRADES, CONFIGURATION, AND USAGE UPGRADING THE M680I EXPANSION MODULE The M680i does not require a separate firmware package. M680i software is embedded within the respective phone’s firmware package. When the M680i is connected and is powered up, the LED corresponding to the second button on the module will turn solid red and the module will check to see if an upgrade is required.
Mitel M680i Expansion Module Installation Guide CONFIGURING THE M680I EXPANSION MODULE The M680i Expansion Module programmable keys supports a multitude of different functions. You can configure the keys using the Mitel Web UI at the path, Operation->Expansion Module (where N is the module number) when modules are attached to the 6865i, 6867i, or 6869i IP phone. Notes: 1. On each of the respective Expansion Module pages, the M680i Bootloader version and App version is displayed.
Upgrades, Configuration, and Usage USING THE M680I EXPANSION MODULE After configuring the programmable keys on the M680i Expansion Module, you can record the name of the programmable key on the paper key cards provided with the M680i Expansion Module.
