Auto NAT Detection and Digital Equipment
Software Version Requirements
For the Auto NAT Detection feature to function, the system must be running Call Processing
v1.2 or later.
Endpoints
Mitel IP endpoints do not support the Automatic Network Address Translation (NAT) address
type. In DB Programming, you must select either Native or NAT for private and public networks.
Refer to the Mitel 5000 Features and Programming Guide, part number 580.8006, to configure
the NAT address type.
With applicable licensing, Auto NAT Detection supports multi-protocol endpoint Models 8600,
8620, 8622, 8662, and 8690; Model 8660, IP PhonePlus, and IP Single-Line Adapter (IP SLA);
and, the Model 8602 IP softphone.
Auto NAT Detection does not support the following endpoints. The NAT setting must be set
manually for:
• Wireless IP endpoint Models 8664, 8665, and 8668.
• IP gateway trunks, neither Station Initiation Protocol (SIP) nor Media Gateway Control
Protocol (MGCP).
• Multi-protocol IP endpoints in SIP mode.
• Non-Mitel SIP endpoints.
• Model 8601 SoftPhone for Pocket PC application.
• SIP Server.
• Audio and Web Conferencing (AWC)
