Configuring Near-End NAT Traversal for IP Gateway Trunks
In addition to IP endpoints, the Mitel CS-5200/5400/5600 also supports near-end NAT traversal
for IP trunk gateways. Note that IP trunk gateways impose additional restrictions on
far-end
NAT.
To configure near-end NAT traversal for IP Gateway trunks:
1. Configure the static NAT assignments and the Mitel CS-5200/5400/5600 NAT IP
Address assignments as described in step 1 on page B-14 (CS-5200) or step 1 on page
B-16 (CS-5400). This includes the information in the IMPORTANT notes.
2. Do the following according to the gateway type:
For an MGCP Gateway, set the NAT Address Type to NAT.
For a SIP Trunk gateway, an example screen is shown below.
3. Repeat this process for each IP gateway trunk.
NOTICE
The Mitel CS-5400 has two IP addresses; the routing information for both addresses must be
configured identically. Failure to configure the IP addresses in the same subnet with the
same accessibility can result in no-audio problems.
