Node Trunk Lists
To add the node trunk groups to the node list:
1. In System\Devices and Feature Codes\Nodes, select the remote node.
2. Select Node Trunk/IP Connection Groups and add the node trunk groups.
3. Program the Search Algorithm.
4. Repeat for each node.
Off-Node Devices
There are two methods for programming off-node devices, as described on page A-15. The
automatic broadcast method works only for newly created endpoints. Any extensions that
existed before the nodes began communicating must be exported (or imported) to other nodes
using the Export/Import button in DB Programming or programmed as “off-node devices”
manually at each of the other nodes.
Network Operation of System Features
When a Mitel 5000 converged communication system is programmed for use in a network the
features listed here are affected. Refer to the features information in the Inter-Tel 5000 Features
and Programming Guide (part no: 580.8006) for details.
Administrator Feature Codes:
o Clear Network Alarm: Administrators who receive network-wide alarms can clear them.
The default feature code for the clear network alarm feature is 9851. See page A-28
for more information on network alarms.
o Enable Network Night or Day Mode: Administrators can place any or all remote nodes
into night mode or day mode. The default feature code for Enable Network Night is
9861. The default feature code for Enable Network Day is 9862. The Night Ring On/Off
feature code (9860) affects only the node on which the administrator resides.
o Set Network Date And Time: Administrators can synchronize the time of day, date, and
day of week across the network. The default feature code for the synchronize network
time of day feature is 9810. Note that administrators can still set the time of day, date,
and day of week on their local node.
o Synchronize Network Time: Administrators can synchronize the minutes past the hour
across the network without changing the hour. This is useful when the nodes are in
different time zones. The default feature code for the synchronize network minutes
past the hour is 9811. If the node time is off by more than 30 minutes, synchronizing
the minutes may cause the hour to change. Also, network time is automatically
synchronized every day at 12:30 AM (00:30), using the time setting on the node with
the lowest number.
o Network Freeze/Unfreeze Zone: Administrators can perform a history freeze or
unfreeze on any freeze zone. The default feature code for Network Freeze is 9939 and
Network Unfreeze is 9989.
Administrator DB Programming: The administrator can change extensions and
usernames of only those users residing on the same node as the administrator. The
network prohibits the administrator from programming an extension conflict. The network
automatically broadcasts changes to extensions and/or usernames made by an
administrator to the other nodes in the network.
Attendant Endpoints: An attendant does not need to reside on the same node as the
endpoints it serves.
Node Attendants: There can be a primary attendant for each node.
