Licensing Options for v3.0
For systems running Mitel 5000 v2.4 software, v3.0 is a chargeable upgrade. However, while no
charge applies to upgrading from v2.x to v2.4, systems running v1.2 must first upgrade to v2.0,
which is a chargeable license.
The Mitel 5000 uses one unique Category D license for each of the Models 5212/5224 and
5330/5340 endpoints, which is a chargeable license. Licensing requirements have not changed
for other supported endpoints.
For details and part numbers, refer to “Parts and Part Numbers” on page 7-3 or contact your
provider for more information.
Upgrading from Mitel CS-5200 to CS-5400
Additional licences and the installation of a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1) transforms an
Mitel CS-5200 platform into an Mitel CS-5400. To complete the upgrade, the following
applicable licences are required:
“Upgrade from Mitel CS-5200 to Mitel CS-5400 Base,” part number 840.0240.
If the Mitel CS-5200 system is already licensed with “CS-5200 IP Networking,” part
number 840.0224, then “CS-5400 IP Networking Upgrade,” part number 840.0223, is also
required.
For complete instructional details, see “Installing a Processor Expansion Card (PEC-1)” on
page 5-43.
NOTES
If you are using Mitel endpoints, you must have a Category D (purchased) license
for each Mitel endpoint that is added to the system.
If you are using Enterprise Messaging, you must have a fax license to detect fax-
tone and to send, receive, and listen to faxes.
