System-Wide Parameters
This section provides information on system-wide parameters, such as database backup and
enabling/disabling voice processing.
Backup Database Parameters
A backup copy of the database is automatically stored on the compact flash-type memory card
located on the front of the Mitel CS-5200/5400/5600 Base Server. This backup remains
available, even if the system experiences a power failure or if the battery backup loses power. If
the system is powered up and a corrupt database file is detected, the backup file in flash
memory or on the CF drive is restored. You can program an automatic backup as described
below. Database Backup options are located in the System folder.
Figure 6-13. Backup Database Parameters
Periodic Backup Database Save Time: Select the time of day when a scheduled database
backup will occur. This must be at least 15 minutes after the Scheduled Reset Time; otherwise,
the backup may not occur. If you enter a time that is less than 15 minutes after the Scheduled
Reset Time, a message is displayed, requesting a new value. By default, this is 2:00AM. To
program the time, select the current hours, minutes, or AM/PM value, then scroll to or enter new
setting in the text box. Press ENTER or select another field to save the change.
Periodic Backup Database Save Retry Attempts: Select the number of times that DB
Programming will attempt to save the database. If the database is not saved before the system
retries the number of times specified in this field, the database is not saved until the next day.
The range is 0–10, and the default is 3.
Enable Periodic Backup Database Save: Turn this flag ON to save the database at the time
indicated in Periodic Backup Database Save Time. This flag must be turned ON to backup the
database at the scheduled time. By default, the flag is turned ON.
To turn the Enable Periodic Backup Database Save flag ON and OFF:
1. Select the current Value, and then select the check [tick] box to place a check [tick] in it.
2. Press ENTER or select another field to save the change. To remove the check [tick] and
turn the flag OFF, select the box again.
NOTE
If the system detects that the database has not changed since the last
backup, the save is not performed.
