To set up DEI expansion modules
1. From the Expansion Module Installation for DEI #1 (or DEI #2) dialog box, select the
module type you want to add to the system.
2. Select the module type and click Add>> or click <<Remove, from either list, to move
module types between lists. Currently, two module types exist: Digital Endpoint Model -
16 and the SLM-8.
3. Order the modules, according to the bay in which they are installed, using the Move Up/
Move Down buttons. Click Next.
To configure the SLM-8 module:
1. Click Change to access the dialog.
2. Select the device type to install in the selected port(s), then click OK.
3. Select the starting extensions for each device. The screen shows the results of
programming several ports with each of the configuration options.
4. Click Next. If the second chassis (DEI # 2 panel) was configured with SLM-8 modules,
the next dialog box shows the circuit configuration for that page. Otherwise, the Finish
page displays.
5. Click Next to get through the wizard and to the finish screen.
IMPORTANT
You cannot configure or modify modules that have already been
configured in the system. If you intend to configure the a T1/E1
module for PRI use, you must have the PRI software license, part no.

NOTE
All configurable ports appear in the Single Line Module-8 Circuits panel. The
ports are represented as node:bay:port for each SLM-8 you added. Eight
ports may be configured with single line endpoints. If a port contains any
endpoints programmed before the current Configuration Wizard session,
these ports cannot be modified. Only ports having circuits labeled as NONE
may be configured.
