Converting a Database from Inter-Tel Axxess to Mitel 5000
For a feature description, see “Inter-Tel Axxess to Mitel 5000 Database Conversions” on page
6-25. This procedure assumes you are currently at release v2.2 on the Mitel 5000. In the
examples shown in this procedure, .intl database files have been stored in a folder named
DB that appears in the Open Window.
Do the following:
1. From your PC desktop, select Start – All Programs – Inter-Tel 5000 DB Programming –
Inter-Tel 5000 DB Converter.
2. Click the ellipsis button at the right of the Source File box.
The database source file
folders available for
conversion are listed, as
shown at right. You may
browse to a different folder if
necessary. As shown at
right, the default filter
includes file extensions
.axx and .intl. You can
also select a filter with just
.axx or .intl as the file
extension for the source
database.
3. Double-click the Inter-Tel
Axxess .axx database file
you want to convert. You can
also navigate to the location,
select the file and click
Open. The second screen at
right appears.
Status appears between the
Help and Convert buttons as
the Source File is examined
to determine if it is valid. The
converter utility then displays
valid options to select.
If any circumstance
regarding what can be
converted is detected, an
error message appears. See
Table 6-13, “Database
Converter Error Messages,”
on page 6-27 for database
incompatibility errors.
If the source file is valid, the Destination Version list displays a list of valid versions for
the destination database. For an Inter-Tel Axxess to Mitel 5000 conversion, only Mitel
5000 version 2.2 is supported. For a Mitel 5000 to Mitel 5000 conversion, the DB
Converter will support any installed version subsequent to the source file version.
The .intl file extension is the only valid extension for the destination file. If an invalid
file extension is chosen, an error appears. If the invalid file extension is not changed
before the conversion begins, the .intl extension is automatically added to the
filename.
Status appears here, if applicable
