To an Empty Module, Port, or Folder
An Inter-Tel Axxess card can be dropped on a populated bay, port, or folder in the Mitel 5000
view if the following conditions are met:
The card type matches the module, port or folder type.
All ports/circuits on the module or in the folder in the Mitel 5000 view are empty, e.g., the
view displays “None.” This action is identical to dropping an Inter-Tel Axxess card on an
uninstalled bay (or port). See “To an Uninstalled Bay or Port” on page 6-35.
To IP Devices
Inter-Tel Axxess Digital, Analog, and Executone Keyset cards of any size and Single Line cards
of any size can be dragged and dropped onto the IP Devices folder in the Mitel 5000 platform.
This will cause the devices on the card to be converted to IP Devices, with the following
exceptions:
Some devices on these cards cannot be converted to IP. If encountered, these devices are
left in the Inter-Tel Axxess view with the card. A message box is presented warning the
user and encouraging them to review these devices. If these devices are needed, they
must be placed on another module in the Mitel 5000 platform. Devices that can reside on
these cards that cannot be converted to IP include the following:
o Dual DID
o Single Line/DID
o Single-Port LSA
Devices can be converted to IP only if there is room for another IP device in the Mitel 5000
platform.
o As soon as the IP device limit is reached, further devices on the card being dragged
will not be converted and moved into the Mitel 5000 platform. The remaining devices
will still appear with the card in the Inter-Tel Axxess view. A message box is presented
warning the user and encouraging them to review these devices. If these devices are
needed, they will need to be placed on another module in the Mitel 5000 platform, or
an IP device will need to be deleted to make room for each needed IP device.
o If there is not room for both devices in a device pair (e.g., Dual Single Lines), neither
device will be moved, i.e., the devices will not be split up.
When MDPMs or DPMs are encountered, they are removed, and the associated keyset is
converted to an IP Endpoint. This generally makes sense, because you don't need an
MDPM or DPM if you have an IP connection.
When this happens, a message box is presented warning the user. The user can opt not
to convert this particular device. If the user opts not to convert, the device is left in the
Inter-Tel Axxess system with the card, and the user can place the device elsewhere or
leave it behind.
All Keysets are converted to IP Endpoints. (If an IP Softphone is desired, the user will
need to change the IP Endpoint to an IP Softphone, via right-click.)
All Single Lines are converted to IP Single-Line Adapters.
