5000 Installation Manual – Issue 3.0, October 2008
T1/E1 Ports - Line Build Out: For T1 and E1 cards, under Diagnostics – Status, the Line
Build Out setting of Auto is not supported in the Mitel 5000. Therefore, if any T1/E1 port is
found with this setting, it is changed to the Mitel 5000 default setting, 0 dB (DSX-1).
If the Line Build Out setting for any T1/E1 port is changed, an entry is made to the log file
showing hardware address of the T1/E1 port and stating that the setting was changed
from Auto to 0 dB (DSX-1).
LSGS Timers: Three LSGS timers are checked and changed accordingly.
o LS/GS Caller-ID Relay Hold Timer: This timer used to be defaulted to 2500, but it is
now defaulted to 3747.
o LS/GS Caller-ID Relay Idle Timer: This timer is stored as a number in the Inter-Tel
Axxess database, but is now stored as an enumeration choice in the Mitel 5000
database. This value is changed to the Mitel 5000 default of 128 milliseconds.
o LS/GS Trunk Ring Detection Timer: This timer is stored as a number in the Inter-Tel
Axxess database, but it is now stored as an enumeration choice in the Mitel 5000
database. This value is changed to the Mitel 5000 default of 384 milliseconds.
All of these changes are recorded in the log file, showing the name of the timer, the old
value, and the new value.
System Flags: If the All Ring HG Setup Request Priority Threshold is not set at the
appropriate default for the destination system size, it is adjusted. The default for 5200/
5400 systems is 5, and the default for 5600 systems is 30. If this change is made, it is
recorded in the log file, showing the old and new values.
Modem: If a modem was not included in the Inter-Tel Axxess database, a modem is
created in the converted database. If the default modem extension 1500 is available, this
extension is used. If that extension is not available, you are warned and a temporary
extension is assigned to the modem (P#xxx). In this case, as soon as the database is
opened using DB Programming, you are alerted that an extension needs to be assigned
for the modem.
When the modem is created, Trunk Group 1 is assigned as the outgoing and emergency
trunk group. The creation of a modem is recorded in the log file, including a warning if an
extension needs to be provided.
IP Settings: The IP settings are defaulted. This includes the settings for the Base
Processor for a CS-5200 or CS-5400 system and the Processing Server for a CS-5600
system.
This change is recorded in the log file, to bring to your attention that these settings will
need to be programmed immediately.
