This manual includes the following chapters:
Mitel 5000 v3.0 New Features. Provides an overview of the new features and
enhancements in this release.
Document Overview: This chapter (currently viewing) provides information about the
document’s structure and content, associated documents, and typographical methods
used to call the reader’s attention to important information.
Product Description: This chapter describes system processes, feature summaries, and
licensing requirements of the Mitel CS-5200, CS-5400, and CS-5600 platforms. Each
platform provides Mitel call processing and business productivity features, messaging
services with Basic Voice Mail and Fax over IP (FoIP), Wide Area Network (WAN) Fail
Survivability, and a Power Fail Bypass relay. Mitel 5000 platforms connect to external
voice mail; to loop start, T1, T1/PRI, E1/PRI, and Basic Rate Interface (BRI)—S
interface—trunks [Europe only]; and to IP, digital, and analog single line endpoints. Inter
Tel 5000 platforms also support Mitel Models 8601 and 8602 Softphone applications.
Specifications: This chapter defines capacities, dimensions, and parameters of the
hardware and software components of the systems. The chapter also identifies the
environmental conditions required to ensure safe and reliable system operation.
Installation: This chapter describes the tasks and procedures required to correctly install,
upgrade, and maintain the Mitel CS-5200, CS-5400, and CS-5600 platforms, digital
interface equipment, endpoints, and optional system components.
Programming: This chapter provides instructions for installing the system Database (DB)
Programming software and for programming the system. The chapter also provides
instructions for backing up the system and voice mail databases, for uploading software
licenses and software upgrades. This chapter also provides instructions for using the
Configuration Wizard.

maintenance of the Mitel 5000 family of products, including:
